Intymne malarstwo Michelle Rawlings ma w sobie wizualną błyskotliwość i wszechstronność oraz powściągliwą, kontemplatywną naturę. W swoich pracach artystka łączy różne gatunki i sposoby obrazowania, a ich tematyka sięga od abstrakcyjnych, pikselowych kompozycji przez wysmakowane kolorystycznie monochromy, po ikonografię dziewczyńskich instagramów.
